Description
β-tubulin Antibody (2G7D4), mAb, Mouse reacts with human, monkey, goat, bovine, swine, rabbit, rat, mouse, chicken and fish β-tubulin. This product has not yet been tested in other species.
Applications
Working concentrations for specific applications should be determined by the investigators. The appropriate concentrations may be affected by secondary antibody affinity, antigen concentration, the sensitivity of the method of detection, temperature, the length of the incubations, and other factors. The suitability of this antibody for applications other than those listed below has not been determined. The following concentration ranges are recommended starting points for this product.
- Western Blot - recommended usage: 0.2-1 µg/ml
- Flow Cytometry - recommended usage: 13 µg for 1 x 106 cells
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC) - recommended usage: 10-20 µg/ml
Target background
Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha-chain. It is a dimer of alpha (α) and beta (β) chains. β-tubulin is ubiquitously expressed with highest levels in spleen, thymus and immature brain and it has a highly acidic C-terminal region which may bind cations such as calcium.
This antibody can be used as a loading control on Western blots.
GenScript β-tubulin Antibody (2G7D4), mAb, Mouse is produced from the hybridoma resulting from fusion of SP2/0-Ag14 myeloma and B-lymphocytes obtained from mouse immunized with purified human recombinant full-length β-tubulin protein.
For laboratory research use only. Direct human use, including taking orally and injection and clinical use are forbidden.
