- Accelerated Amplification: A unique, strand-displacing Bst polymerase enables DNA synthesis at a constant temperature (around 65°C), eliminating the need for a thermal cycler and dramatically reducing time to result.
- Superior Sensitivity: Optimized for the detection of even low-copy number targets, giving you confidence in your data.
- Convenient 2x Mix Format: Streamlines your workflow, reduces pipetting steps, and minimizes the risk of error, making it ideal for high-throughput applications.
- Versatile Performance: Delivers consistent, high-yield amplification across a wide range of templates and sample types, even in the presence of inhibitors.
- Optimized for Flexibility: Available with an optional fluorescent dye for real-time detection, allowing you to use any standard qPCR instrument.
Isothermal Amplification
Isothermal amplification refers to a range of methods that rely on an alternative approach to amplification that is not limited by the requirement for thermal cycling.
Instead of denaturing DNA by using high temperatures, isothermal amplification takes advantage of DNA polymerases that have high strand displacement capabilities, for example Bst or Phi29 DNA polymerases. These enzymes have the ability to ‘unzip’ DNA as they synthesise complementary strands, removing the need for thermocycler equipment as the reaction is carried out at a one temperature. Isothermal methods making use of strand displacing DNA polymerases include multiple displacement amplification, whole genome amplification and loop mediated isothermal amplification or LAMP.
PCR Biosystems’ IsoFast™ Bst range of products is based on the large fragment of Bst DNA polymerase and offers rapid and sensitive amplification of DNA and RNA targets at a constant temperature of around 65°C.
