Stain it. Skip the destain. Quantify it.

Description

The AdvanStain™ Iris™ eliminates the guesswork of protein detection. This high-sensitivity stain delivers crystal-clear, deep blue visualization on both Nitrocellulose (NC) and PVDF membranes, allowing you to detect as little as 2 ng of protein. Unlike traditional stains like Ponceau, AdvanStain Iris requires no destaining, saving you hours and preventing signal loss. Simply stain, rinse, and move directly to your chemiluminescent or fluorescent Western blot. Achieve quantitative, high-contrast results without the headache.

  • Sensitive – detect as little as 2–10ng per band
  • Rapid – detect proteins in 20 minutes or less
  • Compatible – Western blot ready, no destaining required
  • sufficient for 25 miniblots

Flexible imaging, no destaining required

A standard Western blot was performed on a nitrocellulose membrane stained with AdvanStain Iris for 10 minutes (no destain required). This process demonstrated high sensitivity on HeLa lysate (bands visible at load). The membrane was then blocked, probed with primary (mouse anti-Vinculin) and secondary (Goat anti-Mouse HRP) antibodies, and visualized with WesternBright™ ECL Substrate.

The AdvanStain Iris stain is highly sensitive, capable of detecting down to of purified protein (transferrin) per band. The result was achieved after SDS-PAGE, transfer to a nitrocellulose membrane, and a rapid 10-minute stain followed by EPI Blue light imaging.

AdvanStain Iris is significantly more sensitive than Ponceau S and works well with PVDF membranes. This was proven by staining BSA protein on both nitrocellulose and PVDF membranes (10 minutes for AdvanStain Iris; 5 minutes for Ponceau S following a rinse) after SDS-PAGE transfer.

AdvanStain Iris stain is reusable up to three times, producing comparable data each time. HeLa Lysate, separated by SDS-PAGE and transferred to a nitrocellulose membrane, was stained for 10 minutes, and the resulting bands were visualized using visible light.
