HE 33 Mini submarine unit is designed for very fast separations of DNA restriction fragments in agarose gels. The clear molded base acts as a heat-sink. Fill the base with coolant and seal permanently. Prior to run, you can either put the unit in a freezer or immerse it in an ice bath for excellent cooling. By keeping gels cooled, you can apply higher voltages without distorting bands. The Hoefer lab has run the Mini at 500 V in five minutes.
- Runs a 7 x 10 cm gel in less than 20 minuten
- For quick screening, the running tray will accept two combs for up to 32 samples.
- Combs of 1.0 or 1.5 mm thickness come with 8, 12, or 16 wells.
- The unit's clear base acts as a cooling chamber. Fill with 50 % ethylene glycol coolant mixture - approximately 500 ml - and seal permanently.
- The UV transparent running tray can be placed on a transilluminator for viewing ethidium bromide stained bands.
- No taping required for casting.
- Small footprint, 13 cm wide x 24 cm long x 7 cm high. Electrical safety interlocks in the lid.
